Wow! Finally the day has come. The last few weeks had passed so slowely and I counted every day at least ten times the days which were still left.
But now I have to tell you first about my new family. Well, actually it's a welcome family and the word family is maybe a little too big for an idependent woman... A welcome family means that I'll live there for two or three months and meanwhile AFS will try to find a hostfamily for the rest of the year. Until now I still don't know a lot of things about the family. I'll live in Pretoria (the capital of South Africa) and I'll attend the TuksSport High School. I'm really looking forward!
One thing that belongs definitely to the departure of an exchange year is a little farewell party for the family and the closest friends. Anyway, that's what I did and it was perfect. It was a little a strange thought that I saw many of them the last time for a year. Two friends made also muffins and they were so cute!!!
Thank you so much, Lovis and Nadine!!!
I think everyone enjoyed it as much as I did and it was really perfect. We also took many pictures and I gonna take a few of them with me.
Here is my packing list:
And two very important things: a selfmade Swiss cooking book for my hostfamily and a photo book with pictures of my family, my friends and me.
Yesterday I packed my suitcase and since I can only take 20 kg with me and 6 kg it was not that easy. After the first packing I had 23 kg in my suitcase and this was still without the Swiss chocolate I need!!!
I ended up deciding that I'm going to wear as many clothes as possible: two shirts, two pullovers and a coat. I gonna look as if I was an Eskimo...
So that's it for the moment. The next time I'll write from South Africa!!! Yeah!
